Information
Imagine Apartments within a house built in 1745 in one of the most sought after locations set closely above the River Dart and with no steep steps or hills to climb- just a 5 minute stroll down a gentle slope to the historic town. A few steps up the road (also the coastal footpath) is an observation terrace above the river where you may sit in the sun. Enjoy a coffee leaning over the wall opposite or up at this terrace.
If you are seeking something a little different our ground floor two-bedroom Foredeck or our one bedroom Upperdeck will suit your needs. Both apartments offer bright decor and have well equipped kitchens containing full oven and microwaves. Living rooms with flat screen television and DVD/ Video. Book exchange. They are professionally cleaned with beds made up to welcome you.
A small open passage through the house opens into a delightful courtyard garden with wooden platform sporting a garden table and small childs chair, ideal for retiring to ones own space- maybe to read or meditate. This is overlooked by a 30ft sheer rock face, ivy covered, overlooking the statued grotto with fish pond. There is a triple cascade of fuschia running down this rocky cliff face in summer.
Foredeck is more like a cosy compact cottage, with low ceilings. Large windows offer excellent views across the river to Kingswear, built like an ampitheatre aglow at night. It is quite usual to keep the door open to enjoy the bustling river traffic to the full. A Liner may even pass your window if you are lucky! The frontage consits of Living Room with windowed dining alcove, with well fitted kitchen looking through, offering river views as you cook. Double bedroom with wash hand basin. Both these rooms have large windows. A narrow passage includes shower room, cloaks cupbaord and WC/ wash hand basin before reaching small rear L- shaped bedroom with two single beds and further wash hand basin/ vanitory unit. Door to courtyard garden and Communal Utility Room with free washing machine and hanging space.
Upperdeck, our one bedroomed apartment overlooks our inner Courtyard and is approached by tiled steps with entrance lobby nestling into sheer rockface. Spiral staircase takes you directly into the kitchen/ breakfast room, this leads into spacious living room followed by double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. All is very light and sunny with large windows.
Please note the following when viewing the calendar to the right of this text: Red denotes both flats are booked, Green denotes 1 or both flats are available.
Wreck House includes generally resident owners.
