...manager of the Dartmouth Apprentice, Devon's only training restaurant for the long-term unemployed.

Everything we do is aimed at creating an amazing restaurant which supports its apprentices to train in the best working practices so that when they leave after six months they have the best chance of finding employment. They leave with an NVQ, a six month life skills course and vital real world experience in the restaurant under their belt to help them in their search, along with our support and help of course.

This is why we are all so dedicated to this restaurant, and strive to make it the best it can be?

WELCOME TO 2012We open this week after a month of decorating and maintenance, and we have an AMAZING year of fun and entertainment lined up for you this year!


CHECK OUT THE UPCOMING HIGHLIGHTS BELOW     VALENTINES NIGHTThe perfect night to entertain that special someone at the Dartmouth Apprentice. We are offering a sumptuous set menu at ?25 per head. If you want to make the most romantic night of the year absolutely perfect, come down and see us!    J2 JAZZLocal favourites J2 bring their light jazz vibes to the Apprentice. For this fun event there is no ticket required, just make your dinner reservation and listen to the duo perform their music while you eat from our delicious new menu!     MOTHERS DAY LUNCH AT THE APPRENTICEThe most important woman in your life deserves a lunch like this - the best food and the beautiful and relaxing music of harpist Esther Beyer. This is a perfect day for a grand family get together, it is ?25 per head so why not give us a call to book?     PIZZA AND PERONI NIGHTWe celebrate the Italian in all of us with this special fun and friendly night. It's a chance to try the Apprentice-made pizzas and either a pint of Peroni or a glass of house wine with a choice of pizza from the buffet. Great value night out at ?15 per person.     BAZ SWINGS AT THE APPRENTICEOnce again, the brilliant Baz performs those rat pack classics with panache and style while you dine from our piping hot buffet. THE STRINGBEANS QUARTETThe opening night of the country's 'Best Small Music Festival' sees the brilliant Stringbean Quartet perform at the apprentice for the third year running. We are delighted to welcome the girls back as their fantastic arrangements sound stunning in our acoustically perfect restaurant. Tickets ?10 per head to include a buffet.     DARTMOUTH MUSIC FESTIVAL:
LOUISE PARKERWe welcome back another old friend for the second night of the music festival ? Louise Parker is one of the South Hams' most popular singers and gives the most amazing performances . The tickets are only ?10 per head to include a buffet for this event ? so book early to avoid disappointment!     BOB DRURY PERFORMS AS NEIL DIAMONDMusic-circuit veteran Bob Drury, the best Neil Diamond tribute in the country, will perform three 30 minute sets of the great man's classics. Hot Buffet included, tickets priced at ?20 per head ? to hear how good this man is see Bob's website www.neildiamondtributeact.co.uk and then come and be truly amazed at the Apprentice.     NEW MENUSAdam Parnham, our head chef and - along with myself ? a qualified NVQ trainer, has come up with two new menus for our new year, with some delectable dishes, such as his famous crab ravioli and Beautiful vegetable Wellington on the evening menu.

We now have a special lunchtime menu which features many fantastic meals, including Tempura king prawns with aioli, lemon and rocket, Beef and ale pie, Beetroot and ricotta tortellini and amazing profiteroles. The even more amazing thing is this incredible menu costs <B.£12 twocoursesand£15="" for="" three<="" b="">? one of the best deals in the Westcountry in our humble opinion!
