Eccentric, quirky, unique, different, a home-from-home - Fingals is all of these and much, much more! Carved out of a handsome listed 17th Century Devon Manor House (mentioned in the Doomsday Book) Fingals has been family owned and run by Richard Johnston for the past 35 years. Richard has lovingly transformed his home into a luxury country house offering bed and breakfast with the occasional dinner. Surrounded by peace and quiet Fingals is to be found in a tranquil valley just a mile from the river Dart.
We have four stylish en-suite bedrooms: One is a double with a gorgeous four poster bed and views of the croquet lawn. There is a Family Suite – double + double/twin inter-connecting rooms looking out over the gardens and croquet lawn. The fourth room is our ‘Stream Room’ – large, light and airy with a little balcony over the wild stream, a sunken bath and an en-suite shower & WC.
We hope you will have time to enjoy our indoor, heated swimming pool, sauna, gym, games room with snooker & table football & a piano plus the ping pong terrace – and an immaculate grass tennis court (available during the summer months). Our restaurant is open twice a week and the honesty bar is open all the time! If it’s chilly outside enjoy sitting by a roaring log fire eating home made cake and reading or playing board games.
