Summer in Dartmouth brings a wealth of exciting and unique events for visitors and locals to enjoy, from a quirky dog festival to a traditional regatta; there is something for everyone in this beautiful coastal town. Dartmouth Art & Craft Weekend (23rd – 24th June)

This year marks the 15th of Dartmouth Art & Craft Weekend held in aid of Children’s Hospice South West. From 10am – 4pm on both Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of June, Royal Avenue Gardens in the heart of Dartmouth welcomes artists and crafts people as they display their talents and allow the opportunity for visitors to watch them work as well as purchase their pieces. There will be entertainment and refreshments on offer too, all to raise money for a wonderful cause.

Kingsbeer Festival (13th -15th July)

Taking place in an idyllic location alongside the River Dart in Kingswear, Kingsbeer Festival returns for its 5th year with over 60 ales and ciders for you to try (as well as wines and soft drinks). Taking place from Friday the 13th to Sunday the 15th of July, indulge in a South Devon beer festival with great local bands to keep you entertained. Those travelling to the festival via the Dartmouth Steam Railway will even receive FREE festival entry.

Dartmouth Shakespeare Week (24th – 28th July)

Every year the Inn Theatre Company puts on a dazzling production in the grounds of Dartmouth Castle with the beautiful fortress and stunning River Dart as its backdrop. This year for its 16th anniversary, Dartmouth Shakespeare Week sees the magnificent story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream portrayed by the Inn Theatre Company from Tuesday the 24th to Saturday the 28th of July.

Woofstock UK (4th August)

Returning to Dartmouth for the second consecutive year, Woofstock UK will be held on Saturday the 4th of August in Coronation Park. The festival is all about dogs, with shows, live music, demonstrations and plenty to keep all the family entertained – especially the ones with four legs! All money raised from Woofstock UK this year will be donated to Animals Asia, Dogs on the Street (DOTS) and local animal rescue centre; Animals in Distress so you can enjoy a great day out knowing that all the money you spend is going to a great cause. Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta (30th August – 1st September)

Each year during August, thousands of visitors descend upon Dartmouth for one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. Held this year from the 30th of August to the 1st of September, Royal Regatta promises to keep the crowds enthralled with the wide array of events and activities such as sailing, road races, live music and street food.
